<blockquote><p>How did you get into your What Goes Up character? She&#8217;s pretty dark.<br />
The physical transformation is always a big part of feeling like you&#8217;re in somebody&#8217;s shoes. I dyed my hair black, I armed myself with many eyeliner pencils and some combat boots and a trench coat, and that did it. Tess is an artist, so I spent a lot of time drawing. I felt like she&#8217;d write poems, so I&#8217;d spend my time when I wasn&#8217;t shooting in my trailer drawing and writing sad poems.</p></blockquote>
